HGV Technician/Mechanical Fitter

Introduction

We have an opportunity for the right candidate to work in a market leading business within the transport department for an experience HGV Technician/Mechanical Fitter to join the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for repair, maintenance, and service of the fleet of vehicles based in Darlington for the role of HGV Technician/Mechanical Fitter.

Hours & Pay - Vehicle Technician.

• Pay rate is £16.96 per hour.
• Pay rate to be reviewed after successfully completing your probation period (12 weeks).
• 7am - 3pm.
• 40 hours per week plus overtime.
• 5 days over 7.
• This role will incorporate some weekend working on a rota basis.

Job Title Responsibilities - Vehicle Technician.

• Diagnostic fault finding.
• Liaising with service providers for technical data.
• Deal with breakdown providers.
• Parts ordering.
• Welding.
• Body work repairs.
• Six weekly PMI inspections.
• Preparing wagons to MOT standard.
• Provide cover for Engineer.

Job Title Requirements - Vehicle Technician.

• You will have a sound knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• All works will be carried out in accordance with all statutory obligations, company policies and the company operator's licence.
• You will have the ability to work on your own initiative with clear decision making in a fast-moving environment.
• Class 1 licence preferred but not essential.
• This role will incorporate some weekend working on a rota basis.
