Hays are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety & Ergonomics Advisor to join our client on an ongoing long-term temporary assignment for an approximate duration of 12 months.

Location: Oxford
Assignment type: Temporary, ongoing basis where you will be engaged via Hays.
Working environment: Hybrid, part office based on site at client offices/ part home based.
Hours per week: 40
Pay type: Competitive hourly pay rate.

Your new role -
The Health, Safety & Ergonomics Advisor is responsible for implementation and management of all necessary arrangements to assist in providing good health, safety, and welfare standards for the workforce at all levels and meet its legal obligations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementation and delivery of planned health and safety strategies
  • Provide competent health and safety advice.
  • Give competent advice and support to Directors, management, and workforce, in identifying hazards and finding solutions to safety matters within the workplace.
  • Interpret workplace activities being conducted, in relation to the need for compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Conduct an annual internal health and safety audit programme.
  • Provide a monthly health and safety performance report.
  • When required, arrange and or deliver agreed health and safety training.
  • Ensure workplace safety inspections, at all levels, are conducted and results are acted upon.


What you'll need to succeed -

  • Minimum General Certificate in Health and Safety Management or equivalent preference for NEBOSH Diploma.
  • OHSAS 45001 Lead Internal Auditor
  • Membership of professional body i.e. IOSH
  • 2 years + experience in safety management
  • Maintain CPD Programme
  • Ergonomics knowledge
  • Open-minded and a willingness to learn
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Implementation and maintenance of safety management system
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • PC literate: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Hold a valid full driving licence.
