Role Overview:

As a Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and maintaining a safe working environment on a framework. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for administering and managing the permit system, conducting risk assessments and method statements, coordinating site inductions, and overseeing site inspections and record-keeping. While being mentored in a supportive work environment with opportunities for training and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and manage our permit system to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards. This includes issuing permits, reviewing permit applications, and monitoring permit conditions.

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and method statements for construction activities, identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing control measures to mitigate risks.

Coordinate and deliver site inductions for all personnel working on construction sites, ensuring they are informed of site-specific hazards, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.

Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, assess compliance with health and safety regulations, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

Maintain accurate records of site inspections, permit approvals, incident reports, and other health and safety documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to promote a positive safety culture and foster continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification is essential.

Previous experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry, with a focus on permit system administration, risk assessments, method statements, site inductions, and site inspections.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.

Proactive approach to identifying hazards, implementing effective control measures, and promoting a positive safety culture.
