Bennett and Game are currently seeking a qualified individual to join our client's team as a Health, Safety, and Environmental Advisor. The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or minimum NVQ 3 in Occupational Safety and Health
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or general certificate
  • On-site experience in a Civil Engineering/Ground-Works environment (Vital)
  • Experience in Environmental Management in a construction environment (Desirable)
  • Hold a current UK Driving Licence with your own vehicle
  • Suitable PC Skills using Microsoft Office software/Teams

Responsibilities:

  • Complete site inspections/audits and make recommendations to resolve issues
  • Provide advice to managers, site foremen, and staff
  • Liaise with the client, their H&S Staff, and other H&S staff (e.g., HSE)
  • Conduct Tool Box Talks and other necessary training
  • Complete company inductions and associated documentation
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and write suitable reports
  • Attend Health & Safety, site, and other relevant meetings
  • Assist in drafting, developing, and implementing policies and procedures

Qualities Required:

  • Understanding of groundworks construction methods, materials, and technology
  • Excellent understanding of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Risk management, legislation, and industry standards
  • Reasonable understanding and application of administrative processes for Principal Contractor, Contractor, Temporary Works, and New Roads and Streetworks activities
  • Familiarity with the requirements of major house builders groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills
  • Conscientious, hard-working, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to get along with people
  • Self-motivation, personal drive, and ability to analyze effectively
  • Resilience and assertiveness
  • Willingness and ability to travel within a 50-mile radius of Oxford
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and under own initiative
