Head of Technical Sales

Location: Aldershot

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Benefits

The Head of Technical Services is responsible for the provision of technical advice and expertise including development of technical standards/codes of practice in line with policies. The Head of Technical Services is also responsible for overseeing the operation and development of the Product Approval Scheme.

Role Responsibilities

• To manage and administer relevant internal & external meetings where necessary.
• Ensure all projects are properly planned and budgeted prior to commencement and delivered on time, within budget and to specification.
• Manage the technical advisory service for the different stakeholders.
• Negotiate all external contractual arrangements
• Prepare and manage an annual budget and operating plans
• Devise and deliver appropriate professional standards, training programmes/seminars
• Develop, issue and manage regular technical trade bulletins, technical articles and publications.
• Manage a network of technical contacts in key associations/bodies.

Skills & Experience

• Ideally degree qualified in Mechanical/Electrical engineering or related technical subject.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Solid presentation skills for presenting at seminars/conferences.
• Ambition and strong commercial acumen to broaden the services currently provided.
• Excellent team building and inter-personal skills, including influence, persuasion, assertiveness, leadership and vision.
• Drive and determination to lead a truly multi-functional team of technical experts.
• Sensitivity to political issues.
• Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to motivate others.
