The School:

We are looking for a dedicated and inspirational Teacher to lead the Science Department of a fantastic school in Reigate. This school prides themselves on providing a supportive environment for children with dyslexia.

The school has a deep focus on addressing the educational, social and therapeutic needs of students, focusing on individual happiness and wellbeing, where students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Head of Science role:

This is an exceptional leadership opportunity for a new Head of Science, where you will have the opportunity to shape curriculum design, develop the practice and pedagogy of others, and be part of a happy, vibrant and successful team.

As the Head of Science, you will be responsible for delivering creative, innovative and engaging science lessons to small classes of children, which are accessible to students with SEN, especially dyslexia. You will also be a form tutor, and you can take on additional TLRs if you wish.

You will be instrumental in providing consistency, equipping children and young people with tools to ensure they feel safe, secure, empowered, and believe that they can succeed in life. You will have the ability to create interactive, therapeutic, and meaningful lessons, helping children reach their full potential.

Requirements for Head of Science:

  • Relevant honours degree and QTS status
  • Reflective practitioner who seeks to improve teaching to support learning
  • Experience teaching children with SEN, especially dyslexia
  • To develop and lead an inspirational science curriculum
  • To lead the successful delivery of Science across the school
  • To inspire members of the team, with a clear vision
