We are recruiting for a leading national contractor operating within the property services sector delivering social housing, planned and reactive / response maintenance, capital works, FRA, decarbonisation and general refurbishment projects.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Operations Manager to join their highly successful team in the South. The Head of Operations will be responsible for overseeing Senior Operations Managers and Commercial Managers who are delivering projects for housing associations, ALMOs and local councils and blue chip clients, ensuring teams achieve targets relating to KPI's and SLA's, Health & Safety, first time fix and materials targets.

We are looking for a qualified and competent Head of Operations with a proven track record of overseeing a £30m + region, delivering this type of work. You will be an effective leader with the ability to develop a highly talented and motivated team, whilst building strong relationships with internal business functions, stakeholders, customers, consultants and the wider supply chain.

Head of Operations Responsibilities:

• Lead the management team, delivering contracts and ensuring delivery teams and contractors achieve a high-quality, value-for-money service.
• Ensure delivery teams are compliant and works are delivered on time, within budget and meet agreed key performance indicator targets.
• Ensure the delivery team effectively delivers work through a comprehensive quality assurance system including contract administration and proactive budget monitoring
• Business technical lead including consulting with business development and bids teams, client competitive dialogue and bid presentations
• Talent retention & development through leadership & advocacy of staff engagement programmes
• Direct, drive and influence operational plans to ensure delivery of agreed Business Plan targets whilst ensuring high-level business strategy is achieved
• Develop and communicate a clear vision and direction and ensure all teams within the region understand the goals of the business and their contribution to business success
• Identify and accomplish strong working relationships with key stakeholders to create long-range opportunities (Clients, Consultants, Framework providers, Key Supply chain, Customers etc…)
• Identifying key commercial risks and opportunities within projects and providing guidance to project teams on how to manage these through project lifecycles to ensure positive outcomes.

Head of Operations Experience:

• Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles and project forecasting ie, Profit & Loss Accounting, Balance Sheets and basic terminology and Accounting Standards
• Recognised construction industry qualification/membership and training
• Health and Safety, IOSH, CSCS, Scaffold Management, SMSTS
• Understanding of strategic and operational processes within social housing property services contracts
• Experience in working at a strategic level, developing and implementing continuous improvement
• Ability to set and measure targets
• Strong IT skills
• Knowledge of social housing, building maintenance and repairs
• Strong management skills and the ability to motivate a team at all levels
• Ability to be innovative and creative in resolving complex issues
