Head of Media – ATL
Salary - £75,000 to £80,000 plus benefits
Location – London, near Kings Cross
Working set up – Hybrid – typically 50/50 home and office based.

What you’re going to be looking after is the media planning, strategy and buying for an international gaming company based out of London. It’s principally around a £20m ATL media budget that’s split across the UK, Canada and various EU regions.

You’ll be reporting to the Global CMO and working with a couple of big network agencies, one dealing with the UK and one which covers all international audiences. It’s a solo contributor position, responsible for ensuring the company is getting the most effective response from their media spend. So will be getting into the weeds of looking at effectiveness and measurement, as well as ensuring you’re keeping the agencies honest in pricing and operations.

You’ll also be looking at the media plans and strategies, based on each market, the audience and business objectives. With ATL campaigns being a mix of both brand building and direct response.

Bigger picture, you’ll be responsible for defining the company’s annual ATL media strategy for each specific market. Presenting this to the board tracked back to customer, business and commercial objectives.

You will also be working with country managers to support them in their local market delivery and evaluation of ATL marketing plans too.

You’ll have the support of an in-house marketing analyst who will provide you with data and insight. Looking at campaign evaluations, attribution and marketing effectiveness across all channels.

You’ll also be working with the UK based brand and comms team on the development of the brand media strategy for specific territories, in conjunction with the Global CMO.

In addition, there’s going to be opportunity to expand on this into sponsorship opportunities and activations in market too at a country level. Investigating and evaluating these opportunities as they arise, and working with relevant agencies to get the project opportunities off the ground and delivered.

About the business

Despite being a global organisation with diversified range of gaming options for customers. They’re not a large corporate and are reflective of being a much more agile, lean and dynamic environment.

Culturally they position themselves as the good guys of the industry, and ethics play strongly within their company values. It’s a creative environment too, which is also reflective of their product being centred around providing entertainment as well.

Experience Needed

  • Can be from client or agency backgrounds with a good demonstrable mix of media planning, buying and media strategy
  • Very good understanding of the ATL media landscape both in the UK and some experience dealing with international markets too
  • Ideally have experience working with ecommerce businesses which reflect large volume transactional businesses, and direct to consumer markets
  • Good knowledge of both brand and direct response media – so know how to not just plan and buy media for types, but also how to measure and optimise media performance to deliver brand and commercial results from campaigns
  • Good knowledge of ATL measurement and reporting techniques
  • Comfortable working in an agile, entrepreneurial environment which isn’t corporate

**Able to live and work in the UK unrestricted.**
