Head of IT - Manchester (Hybrid) - E-commerce

A globally recognised E-commerce organisation based in Manchester are looking for a well-rounded, experienced Head of IT.

The company over the past 5 years have gone from strength to strength with significant growth, taking the team from 7 Engineers to now 18 with current plans to continue expanding. The need for a talented Head of IT professional has been seen as the vital piece to this exciting time.

Exciting Greenfield projects, latest technologies and the freedom to explore and make significant changes are just several aspects involved in this position. They are currently using Ruby and Node.JS but have a strong desire to implement other technologies and the Head of IT will play a vital role in these decisions.

Experience required:

  • Experienced in taking ownership of projects.
  • Experience of managing a team, providing guidance, coaching and support
  • Strong technical background in either GoLang, Node.JS or Ruby.
  • Exposure to front end technologies, Typescript, React and HTML & CSS.
  • Recruiting and building teams. This will play a significant part in the role as the team continues to expand.

This role will be reporting directly to the CTO whilst working collaboratively with the Head of Data and Head of Product. The expectations for this role will to be "handsoff" however there will always be an opportunity to "get your hands dirty" with reviewing code or even coding yourself.
