Role: Head of HSQE

Duration: London / Hybrid

Salary: £75,000 - £80,000

You will lead your team to be business partners who will coach and support the operational team who are accountable for the QHSE performance of their operation. You will do this using your interpersonal skills and clear QHSE dashboards to ensure accurate performance is reported and available to the operation and SMT.

KEY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leading the QHSE Support team to ensure the effective provision of a dedicated QHSE resource to support the scope of the organisation's activities for the context of the organisation and all internal and external interested parties. Provide a focal point for specialist QHSE expertise, ensuring appropriate day-to-day support and guidance to the business, supply partners and clients.

Ongoing development, management and review of the organisation's ISO9001:2015, 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Quality, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, and Environmental Integrated Management System (IMS) and associated procedures.

Risk analysis, evaluation, planning and implementation. Continuous monitoring of the IMS performance, identification of trends and opportunities for improvement. Reporting on the systems' performance to the Senior Management Team as part of the Management Review process. Ensuring adoption of the IMS requirements across the organisation.

Direct, lead and support the development of initiatives and best practice activities in all areas of QHSE management, and promote and maintain the organisations core values of visibility, responsiveness and trust, and organisational strategy.

Conduct and review internal audits within the scope of the organization's ISO9001:2015, 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Management Systems, and in accordance with all relevant Statutory and company procedural compliance requirements across all Divisions within the business. Compile statistical data and analysis reports for organisational performance for submission to senior management.

Hosting external auditor visits and implement any corrective actions required for observations, minor and major non-conformities in a concise and timely manner.

Conduct site inspections for FM contracts and projects and compile health and safety reports.

The provision of mobilisation support for all health and safety, environmental and quality matters.

Development and review of QHSE policies, setting objectives and the effective planning for implementation.

Effective communication and support within bi-monthly QHSE Representatives Meetings.

Ensure the availability of required QHSE data for tender and PQQ submissions.

Liaison and engagement with clients for all QHSE matters.

Health and safety and environmental accident, incident, and near miss investigation and review.

Ensuring statutory compliance is closely monitored and the regulatory schedules for ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 are maintained with any new or updated legislation effectively communicated to the business.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the QHSE boundaries.

Development and review of QHSE training requirements and implementation across the business to ensure suitable and sufficient levels of training, competence and awareness.

Encourage and promote a positive culture for all health, safety, wellbeing and environmental matters with consideration for the context of the organisation and with respect to all interested internal and external parties.

The professional presentation of data and reports to the senior management team.

Person Specification

NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent

IOSH (Graduate or Chartered Member)

AIEMA (Associate or Practitioner Membership)

NEBOSH Fire (Desirable)

ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor

CDM 2015, Confined Space, Work at Height, Asbestos Awareness, L8 ACoP

Experience (Essential)

Strategic high-level management of Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management.

Excellent working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 and implementation within organisation management systems

Experience within FM built environments and all associated statutory requirements for service provision

CDM requirements for projects.

Excellent IT and communication skills

Experience (Desirable)

Previous mechanical and electrical engineering experience in relation to FM built environments and critical data centre facilities.

Aptitudes Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
