Head of Financial Planning - Up to £150k basic salary with hybrid working + equity stake

THE BUSINESS

My client is an independent wealth planning firm, who I have worked closely with for a number of years, personally meeting them in their beautiful offices near Sevenoaks and placing 3 Financial Advisers with them, in the last 18 months. They offer whole of market advice on Pensions, Investments, Tax Planning, Trusts, Wills, IHT planning, POA, Mortgages and Protection. The Managing Director has had a long and illustrious career in wealth management having created and managed several successful businesses. He has built a reputation as a leading figure in the industry, having been the most successful Adviser at one of the UK’s largest Wealth Management firms, personally billing more than £1m per year. The MD is still personally overseeing the affairs of HNW and UHNW cases, alongside training up the next generation of Advisers and the Senior Management team, so they can take over the business, when he comes to retire. The business has no desire to be acquired by a consolidator and is in the enviable position of being fully self-funded and is acquiring businesses off retiring advisers and is growing consistently year on year via referral and recommendation.

THE ROLE/OPPORTUNITY

The Managing Director is creating a brand-new role within the business for an established Senior IFA with a background in an independent firm (although a restricted advice background will be considered). The role will be to take on a position and oversee the entire financial planning department (a defacto Head of Financial Planning role). You will be a driven and entrepreneurial individual with a desire to generate new business with honesty, integrity and with the clients’ best interest at heart. The successful candidate will be given access to a book of business to network through and build meaningful relationships with, then you will be expected to generate new business from referrals and recommendations. This role will suit a driven individual, with a demonstrable track record of business development, that can build genuine rapport with their customers and provide a truly consultative and quality driven service, putting the clients' best long term interested at the core of the advice solution. You will have your Level 4 Diploma and ideally be Chartered, this is not essential but preferred. They have further acquisitions in the pipeline, so additional business can be provided for you to service, if required.

PACKAGE

A basic salary in the range of £100k - £150k is on offer (possibly more for the right person) with scaled bonuses paid out on any new business generated and any ongoing fees you generate in the longer term. The MD has put in place an agreement whereby staff will be given an equity stake in the business with uncapped earning potential. Realistic OTE is £200k within the first 18 months and uncapped beyond this. The role will require you to be office based to begin with to get to grips with the business, then once you are up to speed, you can work from home with the trips to the offices, perhaps once or twice a week, as the business demands dictate.

If you are seeking a career changing opportunity where you can own part of a truly outstanding boutique business, then please get in touch with Peter at Financial Divisions.
