Head of Finance

Our client is a locally established name in the legal sector and they are now looking for someone to join them as Head of Finance.

This role will be integral in the continued development of the accounts department and be a key member of the SLT.

Overseeing a team of seven, the role will be varied and duties will include

Producing statutory accounts in accordance with SRA regulations

• Budgeting and forecasting and reviewing actuals vs budgets on an ongoing basis
• Collating and producing monthly management information for presentation
• Oversight of and ensuring SAR compliance is maintained across the firm
• Reviewing financial systems and implementing improvements as appropriate
• Partnering with stakeholders, providing advice and insight from a financial perspective
• Ensuring annual audit is completed on time and working closely with auditors as required
• Assisting with preparation of tenders
• Overseeing billing process and ensuring debtors are maintained inline with expectations
• Ad hoc project work

The successful candidate will have proven experience working in the legal sector and will have a solid understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Experience working in local government would also be a distinct advantage.

Ideally a post-qualified accountant, candidates who are qualified by their experience and have with the right sector experience and ability, will also be considered.

Advanced Excel skills are a must as experience of legal accounting software.
