Position Overview: Our client is looking for a Head of Finance to join their dynamic team and lead all financial operations within their organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for education and international experiences. As the Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting the sustainable growth of their academic internship programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Drive financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.
  • Analyse financial performance and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.

Financial Operations Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Optimise financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular financial reports, statements, and dashboards for management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to support operational performance and financial sustainability.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to regulatory authorities and funding partners.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the organisation's financial health.
  • Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards to ensure compliance in all financial activities.
  • Lead internal and external audits, liaising with auditors and addressing audit findings as necessary.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide strong leadership to the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Mentor and coach finance staff to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes teamwork.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant either holding an ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in financial management.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of effectively managing teams and driving results.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and organisational growth.
