Critical to the implementation of iStream Superlight are integral modules and systems engineered to deliver a range of electrical functionalities - these technologies also being scaleable to serve the delivery demands of any specific platform configuration.

With multiple sites in Shalford and Warwick, Gordon Murray Technologies continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. As a result, we currently have an exciting opportunity for aHead of Exteriors & Closures to join our Body team.

The Head of Exteriors & Closures will take responsibility for the management of an engineering team to deliver the business requirements and vehicle programs. Working with the Director of Body & other Heads of department, Build a world class engineering function to co-ordinate the engineering and cross functional team to align the program delivery for all aspects of engineering, attribute, timing, cost, quality and resource.

Communication is key to align the team and the business to the targets for the program, finding innovation solutions to resolve issues within the team or with the other Heads of Function taking responsibility for your deliverables and reporting out to the business and escalating where required.

Responsibilities:

• You will be a focussed leader who owns delivery, ensuring that no stone remains unturned in solving engineering and business challenges to delivery.
• With proven technology and innovation champion you will be able to work with wide variety of key stakeholders, drawing on strong acumen skills with technical expertise to complete programmes consistently, against tight constrains, with agility, energy and flair.
• You will come across as consultative leader, who commands respect and gives respect, also always open to new ideas and determination to get the job done.

Departmental responsibilities:

• Ownership of the 3D definition of the full vehicle
• Responsibility for vehicle architectural deign
• Occupant positioning
• Ownership of the section book
• 3D package modelling
• Manage interface with styling
• Engineering responsibility (including design and release) of full vehicle body systems:

Panels

Closures

Glazing

Sealing

Lighting

Wiper Systems

NVH

• Design for manufacture and assembly for responsible components
• Ensuring responsible design meet legal compliance
• Work package management
• Design Sizing Analysis:

Sub system load analysis

Joints and interface design

Material selection

Fixing selection justification with appropriate bolt calculations

• Identify and highlight any areas of continuous improvement
• Mentor and support professional development of all colleagues, particularly junior staff
