Position: Head of Department - Private Client Solicitor/Fee Earner
Location: Andover
Salary: £50,000 to £70,000 DoE

About Our Client:

Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Department to lead their expanding Private Client Team based in Andover. The successful candidate will oversee and manage the department, providing leadership and guidance to fee earners and support staff. This role offers partnership progression opportunities within the firm.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the Private Client Department, ensuring efficient operation and delivery of high-quality legal services.
- Oversee a diverse range of Private Client matters, including:
  - Wills and estate planning
  - Probate administration
  - Court of Protection
  - Powers of Attorney
  - Tax and trusts
- Provide supervision and mentorship to fee earners and support staff within the department.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging professional development and growth.
- Handle complex cases and provide expert advice and guidance to clients.

Requirements:

- 5+ years post qualification experience in Private Client law.
- Extensive experience with a full range of Private Client matters, including Wills, probate administration, Court of Protection, Powers of Attorney, tax, and trusts.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in using case management systems.
- Experience working with vulnerable clients.
- Strong management and supervision skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Preferably STEP qualified.
