My client, a distinguished legal practice situated on the historic Mersey docks in Birkenhead, Wirral, with captivating views of the Liverpool skyline, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Department for their Conveyancing division. They take pride in their commitment to delivering exceptional legal services across England and Wales.

In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will provide:
  • Technical expertise,
  • Legal training
  • Oversee complex matters
  • Lead the outstanding, well-established team
  • The ideal candidate must be either a licensed conveyancer or qualified solicitor

Responsibilities will include providing supervision, advice, and guidance on technical and professional matters, championing best practices and case management standards, and ensuring adherence to Lexcel and CQS criteria through regular file reviews and effective supervision.

Additionally, the Head of Department will cultivate and nurture relationships to support strategic growth objectives, collaborate with senior management to devise and execute business strategies aimed at expanding the Conveyancing department and revenue streams, and meet individual and collective billing targets while upholding key performance indicators.

The role also involves conducting departmental reviews, performance appraisals, and identifying training needs for continuous improvement, as well as managing a small caseload.

The Head of Department will supervise the team in line with established quality and risk management systems, ensuring regular communication and support from the leadership team. Proactivity, collaboration, and effective communication are paramount traits for success in this role.
