 Head of business required for January start in Slough.

We are currently working with a successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Slough, Berkshire, that is looking for a head of business to join their team from January 2023.

The school  has a vision to become outstanding. The business department is thriving and popular, offering a wide range of courses to students of all abilities. The school has a culturally diverse and respectful student body and a collaborative and supportive staff culture.

As a head of business, you will be responsible for leading and managing the business studies curriculum area, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across all key stages. You will also be expected to teach business studies at KS4 and KS5 level, monitor and evaluate student progress and attainment, mentor and develop other teachers in the department, and contribute to the wider school improvement.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

QTS or equivalent teaching qualification

Relevant degree in business or related subject

Proven track record of teaching business studies at KS4 and KS5 level

Excellent subject knowledge and pedagogical skills

Strong leadership and management skills

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one



The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

The ability to secure high standards of achievement

The ability to give clear direction to teaching and learning across the business studies curriculum area

Excellent teaching skills

High level organisational and ICT skills

A track record of success at KS4 and KS5

Effective communication skills, with the capacity to lead and work collaboratively as part of a team

The potential to become an outstanding middle leader

This is a long-term position, starting in January 2023 and lasting until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate. The pay rate is competitive and negotiable depending on your experience and qualifications.
