This property developer in a lively unique part of London are looking to hire a Head of Accounting to cover maternity leave initially for 6 months, extending to 9-12 months.

A key objective is to be a lead in techincal accounting support so this would naturally suits an ACA or ACCA qualified candidate who has trained in a Big 4 or chartered accountancy firm.

Based in Central London, 3 days in office, 2 days wfh and £90,000 + bens

About the Role


Coordinate financial reporting and compliance alongside ad-hoc analysis, while supporting the wider finance team to
develop a best-in-class finance function in a fast-paced business with changing priorities.


Key Objectives
Financial Reporting:
 Lead technical accounting support, including external audit queries
 Ensure financial statement compliance with IFRS and FRS 102
 Review consolidation for completeness and accuracy of schedules and consolidation adjustments
 Review accounting policy manual and ensure compliance with month and year-end accounts
Month/Year-End Close:
 Ensure variance analysis commentary accurately reflects the performance of the entities and operations
 Review month-end journals
 Review month-end management accounts and associated balance sheet reconciliations (including borrowing
schedules, investment property schedules, service charge accounts, deferred and accrued revenue, cost
accruals, prepayment schedules and bank reconciliations)
 Review intercompany matrices & associated interest and recharge calculations
 Manage tax queries (including VAT queries, CIS queries, and other queries with the support of the internal tax
team)
Financial Analysis:
 Preparation and/or review of completion accounts for corporate transactions
 Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis
General:
 Continually look to build processes, improve reconciliation robustness and introduce controls
 Work with Head of Shared Services to drive efficiencies in process, share best practice and share resource for
ad-hoc projects
 Work with Finance Systems and FP&A teams to drive efficiencies in process through systems use
 Support Management Accounting team with ad-hoc projects and holiday cover
 Liaise with the various internal and external stakeholders (including external managing agents, internal property
/ asset managers, development teams, operational heads and wider finance team)
