I am supporting our client in their search for a Head Nutritionistthey area leading provider of catering solutions within the education sector and nutrition is at the forefront of everything they do. They are committed to promoting healthy eating habits and ensuring that students receive nutritious and delicious meals whilst following all legislative guidelines. Their team is dedicated to supporting schools and educational institutions in providing high-quality dining experiences that contribute to the overall well-being and academic success of students.
 
I am seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Nutritionist to join their team and provide support to General Managers and Head Chefs within the education contracts.
 
The Head Nutritionist will play a crucial role in ensuring that the meal programs meet nutritional standards of medical diets, adhere to dietary guidelines, and promote healthy eating habits among students. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of students while working collaboratively with our operations teams.
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert nutrition guidance and support to General Managers and Head Chefs overseeing education contracts.
  • Develop and review menus to ensure compliance with nutritional standards, medical dietary guidelines, allergies and intolerances and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with chefs and culinary teams to create nutritious and appealing meal options that meet the diverse needs and preferences of students.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of food service operations to identify areas for improvement and ensure full compliance with nutritional legislation.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops for staff on topics related to nutrition, food safety, and culinary best practices.
  • Stay informed about current trends and research in nutrition and incorporate best practices into meal planning and menu development.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and educational institutions, building strong relationships and addressing any nutrition-related concerns or inquiries.
  • Support the development and implementation of nutrition education programs for students, staff, and parents.
Qualifications
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nutrition management, preferably within the education or food service industry.
  • Strong understanding of nutrition principles, dietary guidelines, and legislations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience in coaching and mentoring teams.
  • Ability to analyse data and make evidence-based recommendations for improving nutrition programs.
  • Flexibility to travel to various education contract sites as needed.
  • Passion for promoting healthy eating habits and improving the overall well-being of students.
