Berry Recruitment are currently seeking a Head Chef for our client based in Bedford.

Role Overview:
As a Head Chef, you will lead food preparation to enhance our client's reputation for quality, ensure compliance with regulations, drive sales with menu plans and promotions, and deliver high-quality service to clients and customers.

Hourly Rate: £16-£19 per hour
Working Hours: Monday - Friday (8am-4pm) - Occasional weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Plan events and seasonal menus within budget.
  • Conduct kitchen audits and manage stock effectively.
  • Address and escalate safeguarding concerns as needed.
  • Organise regular meetings with kitchen team and management.
  • Maintain a positive and motivated kitchen environment.
  • Ensure team members are trained and competent.

Requirements:

  • Excellent culinary skills and leadership qualities.
  • Business management experience in a kitchen setting.
  • Qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1, 2, NVQ Level 2.
  • Experience in a similar leadership role.
  • Passion for food and customer service.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and achieving GP.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate required.
