Together with our client we are looking to recruit a Head Barista for their small friendly cafe team, based in Thetford

Purpose: To ensure the efficient running of the coffee shop on a day to day basis To assist the catering manager to evolve and develop the catering to a market leading position To ensure the agreed standards are maintained at all times Role and Responsibilities:To ensure all orders are taken courteously and communicated to the kitchen, prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks To ensure customers are aware of daily specials and offers, educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu: answering questions.To ensure tables are cleared and cleaned immediately, team player qualities To ensure the communication book is read before every shift To ensure all relevant communication is recorded in the communication book To ensure all orders are repeated to customers prior to passing to kitchen, To ensure drinks are made correctly and served consistently, have a high level of attention to detail, enthusiasm to develop[ your skills and knowledge, receiving and distributing stock supplies To ensure food is served quickly and to the highest standard To ensure personal hygiene standards are in keeping with Coffee Shop guidelines, maintain safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and sanitation regulations To ensure you strictly adhere to the Coffee Shop dress code Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs To ensure you process cash/card transactions correctly, To ensure the Safer Food Better Business book is kept up to date To carry out all training and development requested by the Catering Supervisor/Manager To ensure you have completed the job lists provided and achieve what is expected, To ensure you are productive and fully occupied at all times, be able to work unsupervised and deliver quality work To ensure all wastage records are kept up to date To proactively serve and help customers, resolving queries and complaints To provide excellent customer service at all times, positive and approachable manner To attend a monthly staff meeting after closing hours To carry out the agreed procedures for Health & Safety and Food Safety, maintain safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and sanitation regulations To attend Supervision sessions with the Catering Manager when requested To undertake any other reasonable tasks requested by the Catering Supervisor/Manager To ensure all measurements/portions are accurate and recipes are followed correctly To ensure you know all the main ingredients in the food offered on menu To ensure all equipment is used correctly and safely To assist in bi-annual stock takes, maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply, stocking coffee brewing equipment, maintaining supplies Generates revenues by attracting new customers, defining new and expanded services and products Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes, maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar To actively reduce the usage of all resources such as paper, ink, packaging, energy etc following company processes To actively recycle and re-use wherever possible, and minimise all waste, following company procedures To actively promote, where applicable, environmental alternatives to products to customers e.g. peat-free etc with an emphasis on local To understand supplier credentials regarding their social and environmental impact and promote to the customer where relevant To help create a supportive environment throughout the business
