Advanced Practitioner - Havering - Assessment Team

Currently working on a four-week duty cycle social workers complete the initial assessments and child protection enquires, and the initial intervention plan (eg CIN meeting, ICPC, escalation to pre proceedings or issuing care proceedings if threshold is met). The family will then be supported long term by a different team within Havering. A fast paced and demanding role that will require social workers with sound knowledge and experience. We are looking to recruit one Advanced Practitioner - ideally candidates with strong assessment experience. Able to interview and start a role promptly would be helpful. If you wold like to join us, and have experience in this area of practice then this role could be for you!Structure:To ensure additional support for our social workers we also have 2 permanent consultant social workers who work closely with all our ASYE's and social workers within the service - offering additional support and reflection spaces and also an opportunity for hands on social work support when required. This is in addition to our team of systemic practitioners who offer consultations and support to all our staff. We promote a hybrid model of working for our social care staff, with a flexible approach involving working from our town hall campus/hubs. In this role, you are expected to work from our town hall campus during your teams duty week, for team meetings and other development days - and at the request of your manager. We are encouraging increased face to face working for teams as we know how important this is for social workers and all meetings with children and familiy take place face to face.You will require:1. A current social work England registration and significant experience (e.g. at least 2 years post ASYE) of working as a social worker with children and families, including assessments and statutory work. Equipment, benefits and additional information: You will be provided with a laptop and mobile phone. On your first day of work, we ask that you come to our Town Hall campus to collect and set up your laptop, mobile phone and your photo ID. Havering have designated car parks for staff and offer subsidised parking. We will set you up with an account on our parking system, and details on how to apply for a permit will be shared once you join. You will also have access to our systemic training offer and development pathway, as we aim to ensure our Face to Face model of practice is embedded by everyone in the service. Working location and arrangements (if not working from home): Town Hall, Main Road, Romford RM1 3AR Our main Town Hall campus benefits from excellent transport links via car or public transport. Our offices are located centrally in Romford, only 18 minutes from London Liverpool Street Station and easily accessible via the M25, A12, A406 and A127.

Your main responsibilities include:

* Hold and effectively manage a complex and varied caseload with appropriate supervision, guidance, and support, reflecting the function of the team and the Vulnerable People Service in accordance with policy, procedures, guidance and legislation.
* Undertake work within legislative frameworks including the preparation of written statements and representations to the judiciary at Court hearings.
* You will be accountable for complex decision making in relation to caseloads ensuring professional judgement, service user involvement, needs led assessment, critical reflection, and analysis to inform this.
* You will identify and assess levels of risk and need (within statutory frameworks) in often complex situations. Undertake safeguarding investigations and deliver protective and/or supportive services for individuals at risk and maintain up to date assessments, care plans and reviews.
* You will be preparing statements of need/care and support plans, in consultation with other agencies as appropriate, that reflect the wishes of the individual and lead to the commissioning of personalised packages of care.
* You will undertake direct work with adults and their families in line with care plans.
* You will work co-operatively with both internal and external colleagues across multi - agency boundaries.

Essential requirements:

* Social Work England registration
* Eligible to work in the UK
* 2 years+ post-qualified experience
* Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
