Techpoint, a dynamic and fast paced Group, is working exclusively in partnership with Keeler Recruitment to recruit a Group Head of Finance.  This senior leadership role holds immense potential to drive transformative change within the Group Finance team, creating substantial value and impact.  Reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Group Finance function, embedding a strong culture of excellence and continual improvement. As a rapidly growing Group, a strong foundation of governance and control is imperative and the remit will include a key focus around system infrastructure, ERP development and driving efficiencies through automation.  Finance done right should also always be a value-add function, well placed to challenge and drive business performance across the Group. Implementing a focus on business partnering alongside creating insightful self-service reporting which allows informed decision making and real time visibility of performance will also be a key success factor.  

Group Background:  

Following PE investment in 2020, the Group has grown from a single trading entity to 5 trading entities all involved in different areas of the electronics manufacturing industry.  The Group is UK based and is growing fast both organically and through acquisition. There are sites in Thetford, Bedford, Bath, Aldershot and Taunton.

Job Purpose:     

  • Create a best-in-class finance function which sets up the Group for an exciting period of growth and market disruption.
  • Drive improvements in Finance operations and processes to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Required to balance both operational and some strategic elements of the role with a commitment to high standards.

Principal Responsibilities:           

  • Day to day leadership of the Group Finance function
  • Embedding robust business processes across the Group and supporting the Group Finance Manager in implementing a strong control environment throughout Finance
  • Implementing a culture of excellence focused on output together with driving simplicity and best practice in all ways of working
  • Ownership of all Group taxation matters including Corporation Tax, SAO responsibilities, CT61’s, R&D claims
  • Ownership of all Company Secretarial tasks
  • Involvement in creating an acquisition integration framework
  • Ownership of the UK audit process
  • Involvement in due diligence or refinancing activities
  • Ownership of cash management and 12 monthly rolling headroom, with day-to-day support from the Group Finance Manager
  • Ownership of foreign currency management
  • Involvement in financial due diligence on acquisition targets
  • Involvement in acquisition integration
  • Creating a framework of effective information sharing and building self-service reporting to provide insight and real time information to drive business performance
  • Monitoring of covenant compliance including a rolling 12-month assessment
  • Attendance at monthly Management Meetings to review business performance
  • Attendance at periodic Executive Committee meetings
  • Key stakeholder in the systems infrastructure including the ERP application, driving continual improvement and efficiencies through automation and integrations

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:           

  • Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • At least three years post qualification experience in industry, ideally in manufacturing and/or supply chain
  • Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
  • Strong knowledge of financial control and process improvement
  • Strong Excel skills and highly IT literate
  • Team management and leadership skills
  • Group accounting including consolidation and intercompany trading
  • Strong Power BI and/or data visualisation skills

In addition to a competitive base salary and car allowance, this position includes an equity stake in the company, private health insurance, 25 days of annual leave, a 5% pension contribution and the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements.
