A Group Financial Controller - Legal Entities is sought by a particularly fast-growing global City-based business. They've grown both organically and by acquisition over the past decade to boast revenues well in excess of almost £2.5bn. They have significant additional available funding with which to continue their acquisition spree and this is therefore an excellent time to join them as they continue to expand into new markets across the globe.

The Group Financial Controller - Legal Entities is a #3 role - the person into whom you will report is a direct report of the Group FD and the Group CFO. The main duties are below but there will also be a large amount of ad hoc work to support the wider Group Finance team:

  • Be responsible for the oversight of 15-20 head office legal entities including the ultimate parent company as well as several intermediate and financing companies.
  • Drive the reporting & analysis around intricate / complex areas including share buybacks / EBT, funding, FX and interest rate hedging etc.
  • Lead the monthly accounts process for relevant entities and delivery of statutory accounts for the same.
  • Manage and motivate a team of 6 people based in London and overseas.
  • Assist the wider finance function (FP&A, M&A, Tax, Treasury); e.g around planning / integrating acquisitions.
  • A wide range of ad hoc projects to support the growth of a dynamic, acquisitive business.

The ideal candidate for the post of Group Financial Controller - Legal Entities will:

  • Be a qualified accountant (pref ACA) with significant PQE gained within practice and / or commerce.
  • Possess knowledge of IFRS9 and an awareness of UK Company Law (e.g. around distributable reserves).
  • Have significant experience in delivering high quality financial & statutory accounts.
  • Want to work in a role that both sees the 'big picture' as well as being involved in granular detail.
