The Client

Harmonic Finance are excited to have been retained by one of the world's most successful fintech scale-ups of the last few years. With the aim of making homeownership accessible to everyone, they're leveraging creative technology to offer a range of services that make the process of becoming a home owner simpler, faster and more understandable.

Since their inception in 2016 they've raised over $500m in equity capital and have scaled across the UK and the US, and have now facilitated more than $100 billion in loans for their customers.

With a growing finance function, headed by a highly experienced CFO in this industry, they're now looking to scale their finance team with the key hire of their first Group Financial Controller. The team is made up of exceptionally talented, bright and passionate people who are excited about building this fintech success. They have a culture of trust and autonomy to make decisions and have a big impact. Together with the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will oversee the integration of four recently acquired businesses.

The Role

Working closely with a brilliant CFO, the Group Financial Controller will demonstrate effective financial control and ensure world class financial reporting and accounting processes are implemented, while getting involved in FP&A and strategic finance.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for maintaining robust financial controls and group financial reporting processes

* Responsible for overseeing the production of statutory accounts and legal financial obligations including regulatory compliance

* Lead on the group consolidation process

* Identify value-adding insights and challenge to support with the production of long-term strategic planning * Lead the audit process, as the primary contact for auditors

* Support with the implementation and optimization of a new ERP system (NetSuite) as the business enters the next phase of expansion

* Collaborate cross-functionally to support the development of comprehensive budgeting and forecasting

* Build and develop a world class Finance team

* Oversight on junior colleague's journal entries, providing support where required to ensure accuracy

* Continuously review and implement process improvements to drive automation across finance

* Extensive ad-hoc projects to support the business as they grow and the finance function expands

What we need to see (Essential):

* Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

* Willingness to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in across Finance

* Incredibly ambitious with a desire to continue learning

* Excited by start-ups / scale-ups * Excellent communication skills

* Strong Excel skills

What we would like to see (Bonus):

* Experience in a fast growth Tech start-up / scale-up (VC or PE backed)

* Fintech experience

* Banking/mortgage experience preferable

* Experience with NetSuite

Salary: £105,000 - £115,000 + bonus
