Contract: 12-month FTC
Hours: Full time (1-2 days on site)
Salary: £70,000-£75,000 per annum

Role details
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Accounting Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take charge of the finance department, ensuring financial control, monitoring business performance, and managing cash flow. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing management accounts, maintaining compliance, and developing financial models. This role also involves significant leadership responsibilities, including managing a team of finance professionals and fostering strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities of the Group Accounting Manager
As a Group Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial control within the organisation. You will be tasked with monitoring business performance, managing cash flow, ensuring compliance, and preparing management accounts. Your role will extend beyond numbers; you will be expected to foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Your leadership skills will be put to good use as you manage a team of finance professionals. You will also have the opportunity to develop financial models that can help shape the future of our organisation.
* Maintain financial control and provide detailed reports to the board
* Monitor business performance and manage cash flow, including foreign exchange
* Ensure timely adherence to External and Group compliance, such as VAT, HMRC returns, J-Sox reviews
* Prepare management accounts in line with Group's timetable
* Prepare year-end financial statements for statutory audit
* Maintain working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
* Develop financial models and manage costings
* Manage the Finance department across the organisation
* Use internal and external resources where appropriate
* Prepare management accounts for Group and External body reporting

What the successful candidate will bring
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
* Experience working to targets and deadlines
* Proven experience managing a team of professionals
* Confidence working independently and on own initiative
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Highly organised with an analytical mindset
* Ability to drive change and improvements within the finance department
* Strong IT skills, especially Excel
* Ability to professionally challenge and influence senior managers
