The role:

• As Grocery Buyer you will develop, implement, and review a trading strategy for a specific product range developing innovative buying strategies which exceed customer expectations.
• The Grocery Buyer will create and deliver the category vision focusing on growing cash sales and margin delivery. As well as building long lasting mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers
• Using data and insights and working with internal and external stakeholders you will develop the strategic plan that will deliver long term growth
• The Grocery Buyer will be keep aware of supplier, market and competitor developments across all areas of responsibility and to take appropriate action to ensure a leading market profile is delivered.

Ideal candidate:

• This Grocery Buyer role is ideal for a commercial individual who has food buying experience gained from UK food retail or wholesale
• It is essential to be able to demonstrate hands on buying and have negotiated directly with suppliers
• In addition, you will demonstrate a passion for the customer and a flair for commerciality
• Working as part of a team you must have excellent relationship building skills you will be able to communicate and influence with internal and external stakeholders.
• As Grocery Buyer you must have good insight and data analysis skills and be able to action opportunities to drive profit
• You will have excellent planning and organization skills and will be able to work independently on your own initiative, a self-starter with can-do attitude
