Joining this successful national distribution company as a Graduate Trainee Buyer, you will receive a well-rounded training experience and build your career within an established £1 billion turnover group.
The business you'll be joining has two specialist divisions; DIY & garden and construction & industrial supplies. With over 2,000 employees across their UK group, they believe their people are their greatest and most valuable asset. Their team deliver excellent customer service and product solutions to a friendly and welcoming industry of customers including garden centres, high street retailers and building and engineering companies.
Role Responsibilities
As a Graduate Trainee Buyer, you will:
- Spend time learning about all aspects of warehouse operation and management
- Learn about key areas of the industry, market and the company's product range
- Get involved in purchasing/buying/procurement and supply chain
- Develop skills in negotiation, how to manage relationships with suppliers, stock management and administration
- Undertake various administrative tasks and contribute to the smooth functioning of the office environment and supporting colleagues in day-to-day operations
- Receive one-to-one mentoring from a successful and experienced manager

- A starting salary of £27,000

Requirements
To be successful in this Graduate Trainee Buyer role, you should be:
- A well-presented, commercially-minded graduate (ideally with a business degree, or similar)
- Passionate about pursuing a career in business and procurement
- A confident and decisive communicator who isn't afraid to negotiate with sales people
- A strong administrator with attention to detail
- Motivated, proactive and able to learn quickly
