Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking Learning Support Assistants (LSA) and Teaching Assistants (TA) in West Sussex, so long as you have a relevant skillset your profile could be a fit. We commonly find Psychology and Drama students do particularly well at our SEN Secondary Schools, in addition applicants with sports coaching and youth work can have great transferrable skills for SEMH and PRU schools. These obviously are generalisations and are neither a limitation nor definite indicator. However, do not underestimate the power of genuine passion and ambition.

We have recently undertaken a new online training course which can help prepare our graduates for their new roles within education. I have an expectation to uphold with whom I put forth to schools and all applicants will have several calls with myself and my colleague before going through, however we are opening the playing field and if you think becoming a teaching assistant could be for you, I strongly recommend contacting us whilst the opportunities are vast.

Traits of a high performing Teaching Assistant:

• The ability to recognise situations and ensure de-escalation before disruption

• Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary

• Demonstrate an understanding of how pupils learn and how to meet their individual requirements

• A genuine level of care and want for helping students thrive

• Experience working with children who have complex emotional needs

• Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs

Salary: £85-£90 per day
Working Hours: 08:30-16:00 Mon-Fri
Location: West Sussex
Availability: Full-Time

As previously mentioned, Opportunities are many and the demand is high this also goes hand in hand with urgency. Naturally in education, safeguarding and compliance is high, and we need several documentations to get you cleared to work. This is not a long process, but it does require a candidate to be committed to the process and schools want employees who are eager to begin.

Over the next few weeks, I will be dedicating my time to supporting potential employees to make the most of the current opportunities. This means having extra support with your registration resulting in a swift process. In addition to myself you will have a specialist consultant working to support your journey into a new role.
