Graduate Teaching Assistant (Psychology) - SEN Unit

An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Hodge Hill, providing vital support to a child with complex needs within their SEN unit. This role offers a chance to play a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experience of the child and making a positive impact on their learning journey.

Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant (Psychology) Location: Hodge Hill Start Date: September 2024 Duration: Until the end of the academic year

Responsibilities:
  • Working on a 1:1 basis with a specific child within the SEN unit.
  • Providing comprehensive support across all aspects of school life to facilitate the child's learning and development.
  • Implementing tailored strategies to address the child's individual needs and promote their academic progress.
  • Collaborating closely with teachers and support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to the child's education.
  • Monitoring the child's progress and adjusting support strategies as required.

Requirements:
  • A degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with children, particularly those with complex needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with children and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and well-being.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to meet the diverse needs of the child and the school environment.
