Our client has a vacancy for a Personal Assistant to provide his health care and personal support in his own home.

Job Title: Personal Assistant/Carer

Hours: Live-in Flexibility to 1 week on / 1 week off or 2 weeks on /2 weeks off (depending on the current rota)

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Southampton

Pay & Benefits

- £130 per day worked / £910 per week worked

-Free accommodation when on shift

-5.6 weeks’ holiday pro rata

About our Client

Our client is a 27-year-old who has a physical disability, Cerebral Palsy. He is a graduate of Football Studies & Business at Southampton Solent University.

About the Job

This is a great opportunity to spend a year doing something very different and meaningful after graduating from university, before embarking on a further career.

You will provide our client's personal / health care and social support. This is also a "flat mate" type of role which goes far beyond simply care work, and includes all the fun things you’d expect a 26 year-old to be doing. Like going away for the weekend, going to the cinema, watching sport and much more!

Weekly live-in rota:1 week on / 1 week off or 2 weeks on /2 weeks off (depending on the current rota)

Previous PA's have often used the flexible working arrangements that come with the 2 week on/ 2 week off set up to travel abroad or visit friends throughout the year. The combination of this, with the knowledge that they are having a positive, daily impact on someone's life, and the relaxed, inclusive working environment makes this a unique and exciting opportunity.

Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

He lives in his own 2 bed flat and you will have your own room whilst on shift.

Skills required for this job are:

A full clean UK driving licence is desired, as you may be driving our client’s adapted car. However, the client may also consider non drivers.

You may be required to attend medical appointments with the client.

About You

You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client's care therefore full training in his particular needs is provided.

-You will need to be physically fit, calm, patient and caring

-Interested in Football and Gaming

-Good organisational skills and being able to work on your own initiative

-Have a good sense of humour

-A mature and responsible attitude

-Excellent hearing and communication skills

-Fluent in English.

-Be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways.

-Non-Smoker

-Covid-19 vaccine preferred but not essential

-A Full clean UK driving licence is desired but not essential
