Graduate Cover Supervisor

No experience needed, just a can-do attitude and a passion for education!

Prospero Teaching are looking for soon-to-be and recent graduates to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools in Southampton and the surrounding areas. These include Romsey, Totton, Hamble and Winchester.

The role of a Cover Supervisor is to supervise and support students in the classroom. Your role will be to cover a lesson when the class teacher is absent. Lesson objectives and resources are fully provided, and you will be expected to simply deliver the content and support students to complete the work that has been assigned.

It is important for a Cover Supervisor to have the skills and confidence needed to keep the class motivated and focused so they can work on the activities set and prepared for them. The role requires you to support pupils as they work through the lesson and to understand how to help them to complete tasks, where needed. We offer an award-winning training programme that will support you in building up these valuable and highly transferable skills.

The school day is 8.30 am to 3.00 pm. The is ideal for students and soon-to-be graduates who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience and explore a career in teaching.

Contract details for the Graduate Cover Supervisor:

  • Location: Southampton
  • Position: Graduate Cover Supervisor
  • Start date: ASAP / September
  • Contract type: Temporary and/or permanent
  • Full-time / part-time available
  • Hours: 8.30am to 3.00pm, term-time
  • Minimum rate of pay: £95-£125 per day (depending on experience)

To be eligible, the Graduate Cover Supervisor must have:

  • Full and enhanced DBS (we can arrange this on your behalf)
  • Calm, personable and friendly approach
  • Reliable and hard working
