  1. Are you an experienced Receptionist/Administrator/equivalent with GP Surgery, Medical Practice or Health Centre experience (This is ESSENTIAL)?
  2. Do you have experience working with SystmOne, EMIS Web or another patient management system? (This is also ESSENTIAL)
  3. Are you flexible to work the following shift patterns during Monday to Friday: 7:30am - 3:30pm, 8am - 4pm and 10:30am - 6:30pm?
  4. Are you flexible to work on a Saturday from 9am-3pm if required? (This can be discussed at interview stage)?
  5. Can you work in Hammersmith, West London working the shifts mentioned above on a temporary ongoing basis?
  6. If yes, are you available to commence employment immediately or within 1-2 weeks if successful?
  7. We're currently supporting a long-term healthcare client of ours based in Hammersmith who are seeking to appoint a GP Receptionist into their team.

GP Receptionist

System knowledge: Systm One experience would be preferred; however, other GP/Medical Practice system knowledge may be considered.

Location: Hammersmith

Job Type: Temporary

Duration of booking: This is a temporary ongoing role with no end date specified at this stage

Pay Rates: £12.00 PAYE inclusive of holiday pay

Working Days and Hours: Monday to Friday

You will need to be flexible to work the following shifts during Monday to Friday:

7.30am to 3.30pm

8am to 4pm

10.30am to 6.30pm

You may also be required to help the client on Saturdays (which may be discussed at interview stage), working 9am to 3pm.

Hybrid Working: No always on client site

Smart Card: Would be preferable, but this is not essential

Duties

  • Provision of a professional GP Reception Service, demonstrating a high degree of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality as the first point of contact for service users, carers, health professionals and 3rd party organisations.
  • Operate an efficient telephone message system, exercising judgement in the exchange and prioritization of information.
  • Receive and scan all referrals to our Central Referral Hub for processing
  • Co-ordination of main clinics and satellite clinics
  • Typing clinical and administrative documents in agreed formats and within specified timescales
  • Book and outcome clinic appointments on Systm One
  • Scanning documents and upload to the Systm One
  • Receive and respond to emails in an appropriate manner, forwarding where necessary
  • Maintain the team’s stock of leaflets and forms.
  • Undertake clerical duties including photocopying, laminating and faxing
  • Maintain asset registers, logs and inventory.
  • Maintain a safe working environment liaising with the appropriate agency to complete requested works

Skills Required

  • Previous experience working as a Medical Receptionist/Administrator/equivalent within a GP Surgery, Medical Practice, or similar environment (This is Essential)
  • Existing knowledge of Systm One (desirable), however, if you have experience of using other healthcare patient management systems (such as Emis Web) as well as a proven ability to learn new systems quickly, this may be considered.
  • Smart Card Held (desirable)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage phone lines and deal with professionals and patients face to face
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Experienced booking appointments
  • Appropriate handling of sensitive/confidential information
  • Must be able to start employment on as soon as possible if successful, or within 1 week - pending job offer and full completion of compliance
