Are you a language Teacher able to teach German? Perhaps you're an ECT or ECT 2 teacher looking for a school to support you in the early stages of your career?

We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of MFL to join the language team at one of Hertfordshire's most prestige schools. Offering a selective, high achieving intake of pupils, leading exam results and a cohesive and well run staff team. Teaching German to pupils in keys stages 3 and 4 you will benefit from an organised and approachable HOD with a focus on academic excellence and supportive for all teachers.

Appointed on a 1x year permanent contract in the first instance you will have the opportunity to work with dedicated and passionate colleagues who are committed to providing the best possible education for their students. Pupils are engaged learners that demonstrate a high ability and are appreciate the importance of language.

We are seeking a talented and committed MFL Teacher able to deliver German to pupils across Key stages 3 and 4. A second language is a benefit but not essential. A passionate approach with strong subject knowledge is key and the post is open to experienced or ECT Teachers alike able to interview and commit from September.

Duties include

  • Planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons in German / Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)
  • Inspiring and motivating students to achieve their full potential in German / MFL
  • Assessing and tracking student progress, and providing feedback to students and parents/carers
  • Developing and implementing strategies to support the progress of students who may need additional help or challenge in German / MFL
  • Contributing to the development of the German curriculum, and to school-wide initiatives to improve teaching and learning
  • Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, behaviour and achievement
  • Providing support and guidance to students on academic and pastoral matters
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, parents/carers and external stakeholders
  • Participating in school events and extracurricular activities as required
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance your knowledge and skills in MFL teaching and learning.
