Exciting opportunity for a credit controller to join an international company. You will be responsible for all German accounts along with several subsidiary countries. The majority of product sales are to trade customers on account and there are approximately 1000-1500 live accounts included in this grouping controlled by a mixture of letters, emails and telephone calls.

Key Responsibilities as a German Credit Controller:

  • Allocating cash receipts to the appropriate customer account, determining discounts applied to payments, preparing batches for posting, and posting the payments to the respective customers’ accounts.
  • Sending letters and telephone chasing for overdue payments.
  • Setting credit limits, releasing orders, closing or re-opening customer accounts.
  • Answering queries from and establishing good lines of communication with the Export department, the clients Munich Showroom, as well as German agents as part of chasing debt and resolving queries.
  • Resolving customer queries, providing copy invoices/accounts info as requested.
  • Posting journals (writing off small balances, refunds of double payments or credits).
  • Preparing and putting through payments for customers who pay by automatic bank transfer once a month.
  • Taking credit card payments.
  • Any other queries or projects that occur from time to time within the credit control/accounts dept in general.

Key Requirements:

  • Speak fluent German and English.
  • Credit control experience is useful.
  • Experience of working in an accounts environment (desirable).
  • High degree of tact and diplomacy is necessary.
  • Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft 365.
  • Numerate.
  • Highly organised.
  • Methodical approach to work.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Good timekeeping and attendance are essential.
