About the role

AGS Ground Solutions are now looking for a Geo-Environmental engineer, holding a degree or higher in Geology, Geotechnics, Environmental Science (or a similar subject).

You will complete accurate, thorough, cost-effective site investigations and prepare detailed interpretive reports. 

You will have the opportunity to work at every stage of site investigation, from quotation, desk top study, on-site investigation, factual and interpretive report writing. 

The role will involve working under the direct supervision of  project managers, and will involve the supervision of drillers, soil technicians and external contractors, including drillers, laboratories and other organisations as required.  Good people management skills are required.

Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills:

  • Degree in geology, ground engineering, environmental science or a similar relevant subject
  • Excellent arithmetic and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Positive attitude

Desirable Qualifications / Experience/ Skills:

  • 1-2 ears of experience of site in site investigation
  • Holder of a CSCS Card, SMSTS, PTS, EURSA cards or similar qualifications
  • Member of a professional body
  • Confidence in liaising with colleagues and subcontractors
  • Knowledge of BS5930, Eurocode 7 and the CLEA Model

Special Conditions

  • You must hold a full manual UK Driving license with no more than 3 penalty points as there will be significant independent travel involved in the post between sites.
  • Successful applicants will be required to undertake a DBS check after starting.
