Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Selby, North Yorkshire

Are you passionate about supporting the educational development of young minds? Do you thrive in a dynamic and collaborative learning environment? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team to work across primary schools in Selby.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Provide one-to-one support for students who may require additional assistance.
  • Support the overall well-being and development of students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create and implement effective learning activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Supervise and support students during break times and outings.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or a strong desire to work in education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and flexible approach to working with children of varying abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of educational principles and practices.
  • A commitment to promoting equality and diversity within the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) qualifications in English and Mathematics.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications or willingness to work towards them.
