Overview:
Our client is a dynamic and growing SME merchandising business committed to delivering high-quality products to their B2B customers. The business prides itself on innovation, creativity, an ethical approach and dedication to customer satisfaction.

As they continue to evolve, they are seeking a talented and experienced General Manager who will lead their team and drive their business forward. Reporting to the MD, the General Manager will be responsible for working with the management cohort across Purchasing, Operations, Sales, Customer Service and Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to achieve the company's goals whilst aligning these to longer term objectives.
  • Assume accountability for the financial performance of the business including inputting on driving growth in sales revenues, managing operating expenses and optimising working capital.
  • Provide strong leadership and foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Drive employee engagement and professional development initiatives across the business.
  • Identify new market opportunities, develop marketing campaigns, and manage key customer relationships.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including production, inventory management and logistics to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role within a business experiencing a high growth period.
  • A demonstrable track record in developing and implementing strategic business plans.
  • Possess a strong understanding of finance, profitability and key measures of performance.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of a merchandising business environment, ideally with a volume of transactions per year.
  • Strong, ethical leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of sales, marketing, and operational processes.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving continuous improvement and achieving business objectives.
