Project Overview:

As a Nights General Foreperson, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of construction activities on a major motorways scheme. You will lead a team of workers, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate construction activities on site, including earthworks, paving, drainage, and other related tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and motivate a team of workers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Monitor progress and productivity, identifying and addressing any issues or delays to keep the project on track.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve technical challenges and optimize resource utilization.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to maintain the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Implement and enforce site-specific health and safety protocols, fostering a culture of safety awareness among all team members.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, materials usage, and workforce attendance.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a foreperson or supervisor on motorway or large-scale civil construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials relevant to motorway infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using construction software and tools for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
