Leading US law firm is hiring a brand new GDPR Compliance Manager to lead with the European Compliance function, being based in the London office.

Salary up to £90,000
Data Protection Lead for London and Europe
Hybrid Working

Responsibilities for the GDPR Compliance Manager will include:

  • Being the lead on data protection issues affecting the Firm’s London and EU offices, including ongoing review and, where necessary, update of policies and procedures, reviewing client terms and supplier questionnaires, ensuring data transfer requirements are met (through use of standard contractual clauses or otherwise), responding to data subject requests, carrying out any required impact and risk assessments, evaluating any potential data breaches, and maintaining registrations with data authorities;
  • Undertaking an audit of existing privacy and data protection policies and procedures to consider any gaps and improvements based on market practice;
  • Horizon scan for new developments in data protection;
  • Maintaining standard forms to enable efficient response to repeat data protection related queries or tasks;
  • Working closely with the Director of Risk to share knowledge with the wider compliance team

Essential Experience and Skills for the GDPR Compliance Manager will include:

  • A minimum of 4 years experience working within a GDPR focused Compliance role within an international law firm
  • Experience advising on UK and EU data protection issues
  • Leading experience in managing projects and implementing processes and procedures
