Reed - Further Education are seeking a Games Design Lecturer to develop and deliver learning programmes for both full time and part time students.
What’s the day-to-day responsibilities of a Games Design Lecturer?
- Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
- Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
- Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of on-line learning resources for identified modules.
- Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
- Assess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback to motivate and inspire the learner to improve and record learners’ progress for identified modules.
- Carry out internal verification duties in line with quality assurance processes. Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes.
What are the required skills and qualifications needed for this role?
- Higher Education qualification in Computer Games Design, Graphic Design or Animation, or relevant alternative qualification
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent this must include English and Maths.
- Relevant professional updating and CPD evidence to date.
- Teaching Qualification – PGCE / Cert Ed or equivalent, working towards / willingness to undertake.
- Must have a current driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes, together with the relevant insurance cover for use at work.
- Experience of teaching and learning in FE.
- Experience of working in the IT or Gaming sector.
- Experience of using ICT resources.
- The ability to execute work safely and efficiently.
