Futures Recruitment Services Ltd is working with an established professional/commercial company who are looking for an experienced Funeral Operative, The successful candidate will be a key part of the team, and responsible for providing excellence in service to both family and colleagues.

  • Ideal candidate needs to live in Basingstoke
  • Experience from an outdoor, hands-on role
  • Hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday plus 9 am to 12 noon on a Saturday (rota-based).
  • Must be available to cover the out-of-hours rota; evenings, weekends and night shifts.
  • Any overtime worked is paid, but overtime is part and parcel of the job.

This role requires the successful candidate to assume responsibility and accountability in the following areas:

  • To attend funerals as a Bearer/Driver.
  • To collect the deceased from the place of death.
  • To provide care of the deceased.
  • To update and maintain records.
  • To liaise with family and maintain a professional attitude.
  • To observe safety precautions as directed.

Salary: The basic salary is £24,843.00 per year, plus £46.11 for each full week on call and £40.17 per call out, out of hours. Hourly rate is paid for extra hours worked. From previous experience it is expected that at least around £4k - £5k can be earned on top of basic once all overtime and call-out pay are added.
