Hours: This is a part time role, working 17.5 hours per week. Salary will be pro rota'd.
Location: This is a homebased role but you must be living in/able to travel in and across Wales.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual to join our Gifts-in-Wills team as our Fundraising Officer. This role will require you to provide support to all our supporters based specifically in Wales.

You will join our Regional Gifts-in-Wills team to help deliver over a third of all income that the Alzheimer’s Society receives each year. You will not be tied to a financial target – our focus is on developing incredible and long-lasting relationships with our supporters through exquisite stewardship, as well as hosting and delivering one to two supporter facing events per year. 

Success in your role will enable our colleagues to campaign for change, fund research to find a cure, and support people living with dementia today.?That really is making a difference!? You will be the face of the Alzheimer’s Society for dedicated supporters in your region: you will be their guide through the Will-writing process, the person they put their trust in, and their sounding board.

We have scientists and teachers who chose a job change working alongside experienced fundraisers, to name a few! 

At Alzheimer’s Society, we are here to support you in your learning and growth. We make continuing professional development a priority through training days and conferences, as well as giving you the opportunity to lead on your own projects to gain experience. Whilst it would be great if you have experience managing projects, we can teach you to do that if you haven’t. What you do need is the ability to be proactive and to inspire and motivate others. 

About you
  • Be a big thinker, curious, and compassionate; to be brave and committed to making a better world for people living with dementia.
  • Welsh speaking is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct presentations in person or virtually.
  • Ability to be confident in engage and provide information to our supports.
  • Excellent organisation and timekeeping skills.
  • Ability to engage with people naturally and build positive relationships to leave a lasting and rememberable impression.
  • Be a team player who will support colleagues during busy periods and who knows when to ask for help themselves.
  • Previous experience as a fundraiser would be ideal but not essential.
