We are in search of a highly proficient and dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to join our esteemed Training Provider, which boasts an "Outstanding" Ofsted rating.

This Training Provider is deeply committed to delivering top-quality education and training within the Engineering sector.

Job Details:
• Position: Functional Skills Tutor/ESOL
• Company: National Training Provider
• Location: Telford, Shropshire
• Contract Duration: Permanent
• Work Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and finish at 3:00 PM on Fridays
• Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum
• Holiday Entitlement: 25 Days + Bank Holidays, with a potential rise to 30 days
• Long Service Awards
• Employer Pension Contributions: Up to 7%

About the Role:
We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in delivering Functional Skills Maths and English training and assessment across various proficiency levels, from entry level to level 2. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will collaborate closely with a team to support learners throughout their educational journey, from initial engagement to assessment and onward progression. The ideal candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic, and capable of working flexibly while exercising initiative.
This role necessitates visiting learners at their respective workplaces. Applicants must be willing to travel within the certain areas of Shropshire.

Responsibilities of the Functional Skills Tutor/ESOL:
• Plan and conduct workshops covering Functional Skills, IT, and ESOL
• Provide personalised 1:1 support sessions for learners through various mediums such as face-to-face interactions, phone calls, emails, and online conferencing systems.
• Utilise online learning platforms and blended learning strategies to assist learners in addressing their areas for improvement.
• Assist learners in setting daily, skills-based session targets, monitor their progress, and maintain records of support provided.
• Conduct regular progress reviews with learners, tracking attendance and progress against set targets.
• Develop individual action plans to support learners at risk of underachievement, ensuring timely progression.
• Conduct assessments by center guidelines and ensure timely submission of all assessments and exams for Internal Quality Assurance (IQA).
• Provide developmental feedback to learners promptly after mock assessments.
• Promote Equality & Diversity, Fundamental British Values, Safeguarding, Prevent, and Health & Well-being principles among learners.
• Deliver exceptional Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) to learners to facilitate their maximum potential.
• Support the Quality & Curriculum Manager in conducting functional skill delivery inductions for learners.
• Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments of learners and utilize the results to tailor individualised programs.
• Develop and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for each learner.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required for the Functional Skills Tutor
• Proven track record in delivering Functional Skills in Maths and English in Adult Education.
• Possession of a teaching qualification (minimum Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent).
• Hold mathematics & English Qualifications at Level 2 and an ESOL Qualification would be highly desirable
• Demonstrated passion for supporting learners in achieving their goals.
• Experience in online and cohort delivery.
• Flexible to travel across the Shropshire county
