Please note, you must live locally to York to be considered for this role. This job opportunity does require someone to be in the office for some of the week.

WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW:

  • Salary is between £40k and £60k DOE.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • 37.5 hour working week, usual working hours are 9am to 5:15pm.

A SNAPSHOT OF THE FRONT-END DEVELOPER’S DAY:

  • Working on client projects to customise the appearance of products, working to client specifications.
  • Continually upgrading the functionality of the product.
  • Diagnosing and fixing any bugs and inefficiencies.
  • Maintaining and writing code and for users.
  • Testing systems and building unit tests.
  • Reviewing and improving code using Git source-control software.
  • Working with colleagues and end-users to ensure that the customer needs are reflected in the development of tools.
  • Amending / updating features.
  • Contributing ideas / opportunities for improvements.
  • Assisting other areas of the business as and when needed.

Please read on for the essential skills our client is hoping you will be able to showcase:

  • A minimum of 2 / 3 years of professional Front-End experience.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (SASS), JavaScript (Vue.js or similar), Object-oriented PHP, Agile management framework (Jira), Laravel, and MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ideally having experience in some, or all, of the following: UI and UX design, WordPress, Wireframing or graphic design software, Bootstrap, Tailwind, Source control (Git, Bitbucket and SourceTree), and secure web applications.
  • Experience of working directly with clients / working to client specifications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently as well as be a part of a team.
  • A can-do attitude and approach to work.
