Position: French-Speaking Accountant
Location: Paris, France or London, UK
Company: Luxury Retail Business
  
Absolute is delighted to have partnered with an international luxury retail business who are recruiting an Accountant for their French entity. This entrepreneurial business has seen continuous year-on-year growth and is now looking to expand its team with an ambitious and dynamic French speaking Accountant.
  
The company has a great culture, offers hybrid working and this role has the option of being based in the office in London or Paris.
 
Key Responsibilities:
This role will be the lead Accountant for the French entity and will oversee the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with French regulations.
  • Preparing management accounts for the French entity
  • Managing the General Ledger, Inventory Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
  • Ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reported in the ERP system
  • Facilitating supplier and overhead payments
  • Preparing monthly financial statements, including necessary adjustments and reconciliations
  • Preparing year-end financial statements and liaising with external auditors
  • Oversee monthly payroll for entity in compliance with French regulations
  • Coordinating cash flow management
  • Handling monthly sales tax returns and ensuring compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations
  • Support with FP&A including budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  • Developing business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls
  • Assisting CFO with French entity-specific queries
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Qualified Accountant / Finalist (ACA, CA, ACCA, CIMA or French equivalent)
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Detailed knowledge of French taxation and accounting laws
  • Practical understanding of management accounting principles
  • Proficiency in financial systems and accounting packages, preferably ERP Business Central
  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
