Freight Multi-Modal Operator (Vehicles)

Freightserve recruitment are looking for a Freight Forwarder for a role dealing with prestige cars. The company are a well-established Heathrow Freight Forwarder.

Role Purpose:

Multi-Modal operator required to join our expanding full vehicle logistics team based at LHR. The Company established a Full Vehicle Logistics division to further compliment the Companies long standing in the Automotive sector. Our clients entrust us with their vehicles which can range from prototypes, classic cars, supercars, exhibition, and production vehicles ranging from several thousands of pounds to cars in excess of £5mio. Each vehicle is handled with due care and attention to make sure that every car arrives on time and in perfect condition. Our reputation and expertise is key to our ongoing success.

Main duties:

• Preparing and following up on all quotations via multi-modal services.
• Receiving bookings from clients and arranging transportation.
• Completing all relevant documentation and Customs Declarations.
• Arranging Marine Insurance
• Providing booking confirmation to Customers and Suppliers.
• Shipment tracking at each stage ensuring that Customer is always kept informed
• Compiling Customer reports to include Photographs and loading reports
• Raising Invoices to Customers in accordance with quotations / tariffs
• Passing of Supplier Invoices
• Ensuring that Month End activities are completed on time and all anomalies are reviewed.
• Participate with required internal and external audits
• Liaising with the Warehouse Team to ensure all shipments are coordinated

Key Competencies

• Attending Airline / Ports to supervise loading as required
• Good understanding of freight forwarding
• Client visits.
• Work with Department Manager in creating team objectives
• Creates business opportunities through ability and
  willingness to provide consultancy and advice
• Ensuring that direct reports follow all financial, operational and administrative functions in a timely manner.

Skills and Experience

• You will be working within a small team with a huge growth plan in the next 3 years, so the ability to multi-task is a must. The operator must be able to work on their own or as part of a teams
• Hands on Operator across various modalities
• Customer focused with a desire to provide the highest standards of service to exceed Customer expectations.
• A high attention to detail, ability to understand processes, create and implement SOP’s
• Good written and oral understanding of the English language
• Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to work to strict deadline with a flexible and adaptable approach
• Live within an acceptable radius of the Heathrow office.
• Ability to train and develop direct reports.
• Team player with the ability to work independently
• Ability to manage all stakeholders in the supply chain

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 Years Multi-Modal Operational Experience (Air/Sea) some road knowledge an advantage
• Experience in providing the highest standards of Customer services
• Customs knowledge to include making Customs declarations
• Dangerous Goods qualifications / understanding
• Microsoft Office knowledge
• Foreign language skills an advantage
