Fractional Head of Finance | AI Start Up | London | Outside IR35

The Client

Harmonic are delighted to have partnered with an AI Start-Up business to find them a strategically minded Fractional FD who has strong understanding of financial control, budgets, debt control and has ideally previously worked within SME's and enjoys hands on finance. Having already acquired large clients such as Morgan Stanley and FCS, our client is a looking to expand their operations, and confidently manage their cash flow.

They breed a welcoming culture that is highly intelligent and motivated to sustain growth over the next 3-5 years. Their ideal hire is someone who can not only support on a fractional basis starting at one day per week but is likely to extend their position over the next few years as the business navigates a crucial stage in their development and eventually become CFO.

The role

Our client is currently actively looking to steadily scale their business and requires a Fractional Head of Finance to maintain steady cash flow and controls. the Founder is also keen to have someone contracted to the business who can offer advice from a finance perspective on budgets and forecasts to ensure the bottom line remains healthy and they do not expand beyond their means too quickly. They are looking for a well-rounded Finance professional who doesn't mind being hands on with finance but can also step up and take on more strategic and business partnering responsibilities including managing investor relations.

Responsibilities

• Support the CEO/Founder in ongoing fundraising efforts.
• Oversee all business finances.
• VAT accounts.
• Develop detailed financial model.
• Offer commercial and strategic insights to the founder.
• Develop a 5-year plan
• Ensure work from outsourced accountants is up to scratch.
• Cashflow forecasting.
• Financial Controls.

Essential Experience

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
• Experience within AI, Training or Technology is ideal.
• Comfortable working independently without supervision.
• Previous experience with SME's.
• Willingness to get hands on with finance when needed.
• Ability to hit the ground running and make an impact immediately.

Day Rate: £550 - £700/day (Outside IR35)

Location: Remote (London)
