Blair West is supporting a PLC headquartered in Newcastle as they look to bring in an FP&A Manager to lead a small team within a divisional role, reporting to the Divisional FD.

The opportunity:
  • Lead and oversee annual budgeting and strategic planning cycle.
  • Tracking and anticipating business performance.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in all processes to drive robust and accurate outputs, including improvements to reporting, self-serve capability and systems development.
  • Develop and then demonstrate an understanding of the industry with the ability to set priorities and demonstrate collaboration.
  • Track the key metrics in the housing market and understand the impact of that on the division.
  • Utilising past and present Data (& techniques) to determine trends and play a role in transforming FP&A into a valuable business asset.
  • Complete regular competitor analysis and understand differences in operating models and financial performances.
  • Deliver review processes and develop modelling to drive efficiency through the business (capacity management etc).
  • Provide departmental managers with information on performance against budget and guide them through controlling costs.
  • Demonstrate the organisational skills to effectively balance various tasks simultaneously at pace.
  • Input and support to finance and other business change projects as required.
  • Support and develop the information our franchise partners can access to support their businesses.
You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you're:
  • A Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • Excellent reporting skills (PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Able to identify patterns, relationships and trends in numbers others cannot see and then be able to describe this.
  • Portray numbers visually in an innovative and engaging way with clear messages to build a clear story.
  • Pride in high quality - strive for top quality and accuracy in all aspects of work whilst being able to do so at speed when required.
  • Experience with the implementation of key metrics and KPIs to support insights and decision-making.
  • Previous experience and involvement in assessing business profitability, viability, and stability to support current and future planning.
  • The ability to make informed decisions based on company objectives, results, and solutions.
