Hours: 35 and HYBRID WORKING

Rate: £35 per hour

A Fostering Social Worker is required for the Children’s Special Guardianship Team in Liverpool.

The successful applicant will:

• Be responsible for the case management of special guardianship support work and complete comprehensive needs assessments.
• Support families where there is a Special Guardianship Order in place to maintain stability.
• Provide emotional and practical support to these families dependent on the Support Plan.
• Provide direct work with children including lifestory work, manage contact, provide mediation and be part of liaising with multi-agency teams.
• Promote stable, long-term successful guardianship placements so that children can develop to their full potential and remain living with their family and friends.
• Ensure the team delivers a high-quality services that addresses need and leads to improved outcomes, whilst managing the reputation of the Service and the Council.

• DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
• Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
• One year minimum post qualified experience in Childrens Social Work
• Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups.
• Possess knowledge of service needs.
• Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
• Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
• Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
